For When Life Gives You Lemons!

The best thing to do when you have lots of lemons is to make Limoncello and Granita! In this interactive Cooking Class you are going to find out how to make delicious Limoncello and one of the most ancient frozen deserts: Lemon Granita.

It takes weeks to make a good Limoncello, so in this class we will look in detail at all the different operations you need to carry out in order to successfully make it. I will also explain how to adjust the recipe to suit your own tastes.

…and, if you can’t find pure alcohol, I will explain how you can make a version using Vodka.

Granita is one of the oldest frozen recipes that we know of, the Greeks were making it over 2000 years ago! For the Granita part of the class you are welcome to cook along as we are going to use one of the most ancient and fastest methods to make a frozen desert, it just requires a little science and a little elbow grease.

As well as the recipes, we will look at little bit of the history of Frozen Desserts and Liquors, and also how Citrus fruit made its way to Sicily.
